The Act of Not Writing

If you're ever stuck for a scene or feeling down about writing, try forcing yourself not to write for a specific period of time.  I've been cleaning and cooking and getting ready for Nanowrimo so I decided not to write until the official beginning on November 1.  This was just supposed to give me a chance to get caught up on housework and such, but it's also making me even more eager to start writing.  Tuesday is almost here.

Went to a Nano Party

I'm getting ready for Nanowrimo again.  This year I'm going to try to be more involved with the local group.  Admittedly, for me more involved would be simply showing up.  I made it to the pre-Nano event at Barnes and Noble.  Not a bad turn out and a surprising number of people who will be working on their first novel.   But that's what Nanowrimo is all about.  Well, really it's about writing really, really fast.  But in a supportive environment.  Or at least sharing the insanity.  So if you've always wanted to write a novel--check out the website and find a local group in your area.

Waiting Out Wilma

I've got to start posting for something more than hurricanes.  But today Wilma is whipping through Florida.  I'm north of where she's going through so mostly just big wind gusts.  We're all encouraged to stay off the roads so I'm at home catching up on things.  It looks like we may not lose power, which is good.
