The First Royalty Check
A few days ago I received the first royalty check for "Tea and Witchery." A respectable but not overly large sum since it represented only the first sales on a first book from a small publisher. A few days later, Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans, Missisppi and Alabama leaving behind greater devastation than we in Florida saw with nature's one-two-three punch last year. So I decided to put that royalty check to good use and donated it to relief efforts for Hurricane Katrina. After all, New Orleans was always a city of music, magic and mystery. And hopefully it will be so again.
